The Dark Web Monitor is one of the key features of Breach Defence. As its name suggests, it scans our Data Leak Database (it consists of over 16 billion stolen data records) to alert you to leaked or stolen information that your business may have been affected by. In case leaked information is found, the Dark Web Monitor will inform you. DynaRisk continuously monitoring hundreds of hacker communities around the world and obtaining leaked information.
How can I use the Dark Web Monitor?
To enter the Dark Web Monitor section, just click on the Dark Web Monitor icon on the dashboard or choose the Dark Web Monitor tab on the side menu on the left.
Before using the Dark Web Monitor feature, assets should already be added in the Add Assets section. (See How To Add a New Asset article for more information). The following information is available to help you investigate the leaked data we found:
- The asset mentioned in the data leak
- The corresponding email address
- The source of the data leak
- The date when the breach was discovered
- The severity of the particular leaked data record
- The status of each record
On the right hand side, next to the status of the stolen record, you will find an Eye icon. Click on it to display the detailed information about the chosen breached record such as the raw data (the exact information that we’ve found while harvesting the data on the dark web) of the breach and the steps to act on it in order to improve your cyber security.
If you’ve already done the steps indicated by the alert, click Acknowledge and the status of the alert will be changed from the red exclamation mark to the green tick indicating that this data record has been reviewed and dealt with.
